| A man with Experience With 35 years in the photography business, I was one of the earliest lecturers of digital imaging. I am an Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop Long before the first digital cameras, I was using Adobe Photoshop to produce space imagery for planetariums and museums around the world. But it is as a professional photographer that I've made my living for most of my life. Shooting commercial, corporate and advertising images for international clients like Mercedes Benz, Vogue Magazine, British Airways, Multi national corporations like banks, telecoms and international hotel groups. I was still shooting film until 2001, when I made the move to digital cameras. In the late 90’s I suffered a serious knee injury while shooting in the Tsitsikama Gorge in Southern Africa. This made the life of a “Run ‘n Gun” photographer difficult and I decided to devote more time to education and lighten my shooting schedule. I began teaching at the well-known art institute “City Varsity”, in Cape Town. I was teaching "Studio Practice" and "Applied Adobe Photoshop". Since that time I have lectured and presented workshops at colleges around the world. In 2004 I became Chair of the photography department at the prestigious Higher College of Technology in the Persian Gulf. In 2009 I was awarded a College Fellowship by Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. In Oman I set up and ran a photography school very successfully for 6 years. I wrote the curriculum, set out the lesson plans and supervised 3 lecturers to produce a group of graduates that had 98% success employment rate. This was in the highly competitive, international markets like Dubai, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. While there I continued my commercial and advertising work and managed to collect an impressive array of the region's biggest clients. Soon I found myself needing a quieter life in a place far away from that endless desert. In September 2010, I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where I have set up “the Santa Fe PHOTOSHOP Training Station" We specialize in teaching Adobe Photoshop software. Avoiding the Wham-Bam-tips-tricks methodology, I go below the skin to teach the software from the ground up. The course is based on Adobe’s “Classroom-in-a-book” with hands-on, personal coaching. All staff are personally trained by me to provide the best, most useable Adobe Photoshop training there is - ANYWHERE. |
