EDUCATOR

I am currently Head of the faculty of photography at the Higher College of Technology in  Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

I manage 4 lecturers teaching 30 students. I write the course materials and direct the didactics used in this unique educational environment.

I am a professional consultant to the press photographers of Oman and to the forensic photography department of the Royal Omani Police.

PHOTOGRAPHER

I am shooting illustrative, advertising and editorial photographs of the region which have been published around the world including magazines such as Vogue and Connoisseur in Europe.

PRODUCER/DIRECTOR

I have shot film and video alongside my still work over the years and toward the end of my stay in Cape Town it was more video than stills. I have specialized in corporate and training videos from screenplay/script through to final cut.

My work on the damage caused by Cyclone Gonu was extremely well received around the globe with a short on YOUTUBE being “Most Viewed”

PHOTOSHOP GURU

I started using the software in 1994 (Photoshop 3.0) I have taken several courses and workshops and have spent many long hours honing my skills and studying.

I am recognized by Adobe as an expert and certified by them as an instructor, lecturing internationally and writing articles for photography and digital imaging publications

TIMELINE

2004 to 2007
I am currently Head of the faculty of photography at the Higher College of Technology.

I am responsible for staff, students, a lab of 20 Apple computers, 4 fully equipped Photographic studios, 1 video studio as well as a wide range of other photographic and video equipment and materials.

2003 to 2004
Opened and ran my own college specializing in digital imagery and applied photography.

2001 to 2003.
Teaching Digital imaging and photographic studio techniques at City Varsity in Cape Town.

2000 to 2001.
Teaching basic photography at Cape Technikon.

Head of photography dept for IZIKO museums of Cape Town.

Producing, directing and shooting multi-media presentations for The Cape Town Planetarium.

 Began exploring digital imaging, scanning and Photoshop.

1986 to 1989.
Specialist automobile and truck photography.

Commercial and advertising photography from my studio in Johannesburg.
